Matt Van Zandt

Central Region – Houston, TX

Matt came on staff in June of 2011. He currently lives in Houston, TX and covers the South Central Region for CGF.

Graduating from Texas A&M University in May 2009, Matt was a four-year letterman, three-year captain, a Cleveland Academic All-American in 2008, and was part of the team that won the 2009 NCAA Championship.

During his five years as an Aggie, Matt was actively involved with College Golf Fellowship. Through the encouragement of his local church body and also the College Golf Fellowship staff, Matt and his teammate, roommate, and PGA Tour player Martin Piller, began a Bible study for his team which carried on throughout his time there.

Matt studied accounting where he went on to work for Pricewaterhouse Coopers for two years after graduating. However, God was continually preparing Matt to enter into full-time ministry as He opened doors to become a volunteer representative for College Golf Fellowship in Houston during his time in accounting. It was during that Matt realized that the one true passion he had was to see the Gospel spread throughout the college golf community thus leading to a full-time position with CGF.

CGF was the vehicle that God used to bring Matt into relationship with Himself. Matt first accepted Christ into his life in high school through a high school ministry. However, it was through CGF that God showed him what life-giving relationship with Christ looked like. Matt attended CGF events throughout his 5 years at Texas A&M and spent a great deal of time with Brad Payne, who became both a mentor and a close friend.

Matt works with players and coaches throughout Texas and Louisiana.
