In this fifth installment of our series of one-question interviews for the 2015-2016 school year, we caught up with CGF Staff Member Korky Kemp.
Korky came on staff in November of 2005. He currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina and covers the East Region for CGF. Korky was an academic All-American at N.C. State University and grew significantly in his faith during his college days through his involvement with Athletes-In-Action and College Golf Fellowship. He graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2010 with a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies degree.
This series is just one way for you to get to know our staff. It’s also a way for us to honor the special relationships we’ve had with some of our favorite coaches.
Korky Kemp: My Favorite Coach
The best coach award in my life has to be given to my Father, Ken Kemp. He was my basketball coach in 8th grade for the local Catholic basketball league. My Dad is a fierce competitor and that came out with his coaching strategy and style. He also made it extremely fun as we would sing songs before games and after wins my family would host a big pizza party for the team, cheerleaders and friends.
I admire and respect him taking the time out of his busy work schedule to coach the team. I can’t remember much about my 8th grade year in school, but I vividly remember that we won the conference championship that year!
