Year In Review – CGF in 2012

A Note From Brad Payne

President, College Golf Fellowship

I’m thankful Christmas anchors our year-end. With  any ending comes a time of reflection, and contemplation is good for the soul, especially when it is anchored on Christ. This pause has stirred in me gratefulness and a humble excitement for what the Lord has begun.

Eighteen years ago I was invited to come on staff with CGF. Over the years, this ministry has remained steadfast in making disciples, but I am beginning to see God do something beyond my limited expectation. God is dramatically expanding our reach in the world of college golf, and I want to thank you for your continued partnership over the years.

Year in Review

In reflecting over the last year, here is what your support went toward:

  • The hiring of 2 new staff and 1 intern who will impact thousands of college golfers and coaches in unreached regions across the country
  • 8 retreats where over 400 young men experienced authentic fellowship, heard solid Bible teaching, were given an opportunity to respond to the Gospel, and were further discipled in their faith
  • Over 50 weekly Bible studies on college campuses across the country led by CGF staff or ministry partners
  • Over 100 campus visits where CGF staff invested time into the lives of countless players and coaches through relational evangelism and discipleship
  • Over 150 tournament visits where thousands of college
  • golfers were exposed to the ministry of CGF and the hope of Jesus Christ
  • Over 175 decisions to commit or recommit their lives to Jesus Christ
  • Over 250 young men being individually discipled by CGF staff or ministry partners

What’s Next?

These are exciting times, but we believe God wants to do even greater things as we look to the future. As we begin to implement a five year vision plan for CGF, we believe the Lord is
directing us to expand our mission and impact in the following ways:

  • 18 total staff reaching teams in every region across the country
  • 14 annual retreats where the Gospel is proclaimed & applied
  • 6 interns annually being trained, equipped and sent out
  • 3 annual amateur golf tournaments hosted as outreach events
  • 2 annual overseas missions trips using golf to share the Gospel
  • 1 Savior and Lord glorified above all else

Pray with Us

Clearly, this vision is beyond what we could ever accomplish on our own. Therefore, I invite you to join us in prayer as we present these requests to the Lord and cling to His provision.
If you would like to partner with us financially, please know that your investment will go directly toward expanding God’s impact in the world of college golf and beyond. May the God of Peace
comfort and encourage you this season.

Prayer Items:

  • Ask God to move powerfully at upcoming CGF Retreats as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is shared
  • Thank God for the lives of college golfers, coaches and others that have been impacted through CGF
  • Pray for financial provision for today & the future as we hope to double our staff in the next 5 years
